Hi, I’m Tomas, or Tom as most people know me, and I’m a landscape and nature photographer living in Calgary, Canada. My work is fueled by my deep connection to the outdoors and a passion for sharing my unique perspective of the world through my lens.
For me, photography is more than just creating beautiful images. It’s about capturing a feeling—the way light plays on a mountain peak at dawn, how the mist rises from a quiet forest, or the stillness of a lake reflecting the sky. Each image is a personal expression, crafted to evoke emotion and stir the imagination. I want my photographs to be more than just representations of nature; I want them to invite you into a moment, a story, or a memory.
Over the years, my work has found its way into various books, magazines, and calendars, and I’ve had the privilege of exhibiting my photographs in both Europe and North America. You can find my images available for licensing through multiple agencies and directly from my website. When I’m not behind the camera, I’m often out exploring. Whether it’s hiking, cycling, cross-country skiing, or even tending to our garden, I always enjoy spending time in the great outdoors. I also enjoy creating watercolour paintings, finding joy in the meditative process of blending colors and capturing the essence of nature on paper.

Why HighwoodArt.com?
I chose to name my website after the iconic Highwood Pass in Kananaskis, Alberta, Canada — one of my favorite places on Earth. This breathtaking region holds a special place in my heart, filled with cherished memories that have shaped who I am. Kananaskis will always be a part of my soul, and the name Highwood serves as a constant reminder of its beauty and inspiration.
