In late August 2013, my family and a friend of ours went on a week long sea kayaking trip to the Broken Group Islands off the west coast of Vancouver Island, British Columbia. The trip was through the University of Calgary Outdoor Center and we had two incredible and knowledgeable guides – Carter and Marshall. The trip started out with a 3 hour boat ride from Port Alberni to our home for the week – the Sechart Lodge. From there we did day trips to explore the Broken Group Islands and the wild coast of Vancouver Island. It was an unforgettable trip and one I thoroughly enjoyed.
